Propolis, the most potent natural antibacterial substance with more than 300 different compounds, plays a very important role as a local antibacterial and antifungal, protecting against virus and bacterial infections, with local anesthetic action, providing thus local immunity. Numerous studies show a strong analgesic effect of propolis, which is associated with inhibition of inflammatory responses. Other studies have shown that oral administration of propolis reduced edema and capillary permeability. Research in humans has shown that the use of propolis orally leads to a time-dependent increased immune response without side effects.

Calendula, due to its high content of flavonoids, polysaccharides, carotenoids and essential oils, has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. In in vitro studies, flower essential oil inhibited the growth of Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, S. aureus, Sarcina lutea, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida monosa. Thus, Proposil becomes unique, due to the high content of the active propolis and calendula tinctures it contains.
