Black Elderberry extract was found to be highly effective against the H5N1 strain of Avian Bird Flu (Zakay-Rones et al 1995) and more recent research has shown that in-vitro it is at least 99% effective against this strain of influenza (Balasingham 2005 ).

It contains a unique active ingredient called Antivirin that helps protect healthy cells and deactivates infectious viruses.

After administration to patients, scientists found that black elderberry extract had the ability to rapidly prevent infections (Zakay-Rones 2004).

Latest Clinical Research 2009 – During an in-vitro study conducted in London by Retroscreen Virology in October 2009, Black Elderberry extract was found to be at least 68.37% effective against the H1N1 virus, known as Pandemic Swine Flu.
