1. Sterilize Before First Use: Before you use the pacifier for the first time, sterilize it. You can do this by boiling it in water for about 5 minutes, or using a steam sterilizer. After sterilizing, let it cool down and dry completely.
2. Regular Inspection: Before each use, inspect the pacifier for any signs of damage or weakness. This is important for safety. Pull on the nipple and check for cracks or tears. If you find any, replace the pacifier immediately.
3. Introduce Gently: Offer the pacifier to your baby when they are calm, such as after feeding. Gently place it in their mouth, and let them start sucking at their own pace.
4. Clean Regularly: Clean the pacifier regularly. Rinse it under running water and use a mild soap if necessary. Philips Avent pacifiers can also be cleaned in a dishwasher (in the top rack). Make sure it’s thoroughly rinsed and dry before giving it to your baby.
