Description
The Lactofer Iron Formula is a dietary supplement containing iron, lactoferrin, copper and vitamins C, B9 (folic acid) and B12. It contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells, hemoglobin and normal hematopoiesis. It also contributes to the normal transfer of iron into the body as well as to the transfer of oxygen and the reduction of fatigue and fatigue.
The absorption of iron is facilitated by the presence of lactoferrin, while vitamin C increases the absorption of iron. The iron present in Lactofer Iron Formula, thanks to micro2 [microencapsulated & micronized mineral salts] Paul Lohmann, ensures a smaller particle size (d90: about 300 μM), improving functionality and bioavailability. Through a uniquely developed coating process, the metal salts are covered with a layer of vegetable fat. Thanks to this integration technology, metal salts retain their natural characteristics and offer significant advantages, making iron sulphate bioactive, which is very active. Thus, unpleasant iron nuisances, such as strong metallic taste, are eliminated, while improved flow, dosage control and stomach tolerance due to controlled release of metal into the digestive system.
Free iron binding is critical to protecting cellular components from uncontrolled oxidation Lactoferrin (LF) is a multifunctional protein of the transferrin family:
- Immune system component
- It is involved in the transfer of iron
- It regulates the absorption of iron
- Controls levels of free iron
In healthy people, almost all of the iron released in plasma is associated with transferrin, limiting the production of iron-free radicals and facilitating transport to target cells. Iron can be stored intracellularly as ferritin, a spherical heteropolymer capable of storing more than 4,000 iron atoms.
But the role of iron is twofold, on the one hand it keeps us alive and on the other, it can cause harmful effects. For this reason, organizations have developed complex mechanisms to ensure continuous control of their levels.
Free iron binding is critical to protecting cellular components from uncontrolled oxidation. There are several substances that play this role.
Another protein, similar to transferrin, is lactoferrin, which is present in the Lactofer Iron Formula and found in milk and some other normal fluids. It is also released by the phagocytes after their stimulation, possibly to neutralize the diffusion of the harmful effect of the active forms of oxygen on nearby healthy tissue sections. Like the transferrin, it has the ability to bind two Fe3 + atoms per molecule of protein.
Lactoferrin plays a key role in a number of first-line defense mechanisms and contributes to a variety of physiological responses both at the cell level and at the organ level. Lactoferrin plays a key role in immune homeostasis and works to reduce oxidative stress on a molecular level, thus controlling excessive inflammatory responses.
