Tips for Maintaining Good Eyesight

The eyes,as well as the rest of our body need care and rest. Even if you don’t have any vision problems, there are some tips that if you follow, you can keep your eyes relaxed and protect your eyesight.

Limit screen time

Whether it is a computer, mobile phone or TV, it is the same. Your eyes suffer from long hours of exposure to the screen. In addition to the radiation, the screens “immobilize” your eyes when you look at the same spot for a long time. Thus, the internal muscles of the eyes can cause atrophy, resulting in blurred vision or other eye diseases. Take a break every half an hour for the eyes to rest and move in other directions.

Wash your eyes with chamomile

Boil chamomile in clean distilled water and strain it very well. Allow it to cool and put a few drops in each eye, like eye drops. Chamomile will relax your eyes especially if you have spent many hours working at a computer.

Eat carrots and sunflower seeds

You may have heard that carrots are good for the eyes. But sunflower seeds are also excellent for eyesight and help to restore the eyes’ good health.

Avoid coffee, alcohol and salt

It is possible to consume them on a daily basis, but they raise the blood pressure, which creates hyperemia in the eye area. Avoid consuming them in the evening when the eyes are already tired and require rest and low light.

Avoid exposure to smoke

Whether you smoke or you are a passive smoker, it is certain that you damage your eyes as well. Smoking also causes hyperemia. If you are exposed to smoke, remember that in addition to the lungs, your eyes are also damaged because they are 100% exposed. Therefore, make sure you are in a well-ventilated environment and reduce smoking at least in the evening.

Make sure you get a good night’s sleep

Going to bed early is the best way to relax your eyes. Ideally sleep before midnight. For extra protection you can wear a sleeping mask. The mask will protect your eyes from the lights of any external factors, while it will also help in the normal production of melatonin and serotonin that contribute to good sleep, so that you wake up with a relaxed look.
