Tips for Beautiful Hands

It is important to treat your hands with the same care that you would care for your face, hair or body. As hands can reveal someone’s age, below are some tips to keep them beautiful and youth-looking.

Apply sunscreen
We all apply sunscreen to our body and face, but we should not neglect our hands either. So when you apply sunscreen on your face, put a little on your hands too, spreading it well. This way, you will prevent brown spots and wrinkled skin.

Use olive oil
A few drops of olive oil can replace even the best hand creams, either because you do not happen to have one, or because you prefer something more natural. Olive oil contains many antioxidants, vitamins and other substances that heal irritated skin and deeply moisturize it. Before going to bed, smear your hands with a few drops of olive oil, giving them a light massage. If you can not keep it overnight, leave it on for a while and then wipe it off.

Use gloves for ultimate protection
Gloves are essential for household chores and all kinds of manual work. As uncomfortable as they are, they protect your hands from contact with chemicals and other substances that dehydrate them and make them look older.

Watch out for the soaps you use
Soaps absorb the natural moisture of the hands, and clean them while also dehydrating them. So try to limit the use of antibacterial soaps that are much stronger and prefer soaps with moisturizing agents, such as aloe.

Do not wash your hands with hot water
Hot water kills germs and cleans thoroughly but also dehydrates and dries hands. The ideal temperature for your hands is around 25 degrees which means that the water with which you wash your hands should be warm to lukewarm.

Exfoliate
Mix a little oil, sugar, the juice of half a lemon and a little zest from its skin. Spread the mixture on your hands by rubbing the backs of your palms together. Doing this once a week will quickly make a difference. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator well sealed to prevent it from losing its effectiveness.

Do not bite the fingernails and cuticles
Biting the fingernails and cuticles is a bad habit that can also damage the skin around them. Instead, apply a nail softener at regular intervals for quick results.

Have a nice manicure
Professional manicure usually includes exfoliation, mask, moisturizing, light hand massage and nail polish.
If you do not have time to deal with your hands often or do not know how to do it properly, consult a professional beauty therapist.
