Alfa-Intes Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution eye drops are suitable for the treatment of dry eye and lacrimal dysfunction. Their effective formula consists of an isotonic solution containing sodium hyaluronate (0.2%) and hydrocortisone (or sodium phosphate, in an amount of less than 0.001%). Thanks to the mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties of sodium hyaluronate, it is evenly distributed on the ocular surface, forming a protective viscoelastic “mesh”. In this way, a mechanical action (“barrier effect”) is carried out that stabilizes the tear “film” and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking, while protecting the surface of the eye, favoring the regeneration processes resulting from the stress of the corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear “film”.
The application of Idroflog ophthalmic solution protects the corneal surface from exposure to external aggressions and, thanks to the auxiliary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate, contributes to the prevention and risk of recurrence of phlegmonous phenomena. Also, thanks to its specific saline composition, it restores and maintains the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface, at normal levels.

Properties: Ophthalmic moisturizing eye drops, suitable for the treatment of dry eyes and lacrimal dysfunction. Formula with sodium hyaluronate (2mg per ml) and hydrocortisone (10μg per ml). Medical device (compatible with Directive 93/42/EEC and subsequent amendments and incorporations). Compatible with contact lenses. Does not contain preservatives. In the form of an isotonic solution, in single doses.

Ingredient formula: Sodium hyaluronate: Biocompatible, natural component of tears, with hygroscopic action (it binds a quantity of water 1000 times greater than its molecular weight), pseudoplastic behavior (the viscosity of the solution decreases during blinking) and biological action (intervenes in the tissue repair process). Hydrocortisone (sodium phosphate): With biocompatible action, it incorporates and mimics the normal cortisol produced by the body. It provides moderate anti-inflammatory action, while it is considered a “mild steroid” that does not enter the anterior chamber (it has a low tendency to permeate the corneal barrier and cause adverse reactions).

Recommended dosage: 1 to 2 drops, for 2 to 4 times a day. In any case, it should be administered individually according to the condition of the eye and according to the recommendations of the ophthalmologist. It can also be used while wearing contact lenses.
