Avoid Skin Irritations After Shaving

Hair removal with a razor or some other method damages the hair follicle. If your skin is sensitive, you may suffer from irritation every time you shave. Pimples may also appear on your skin. All this keeps you away from the image of a smooth and soft skin, which on the contrary looks and suffers. By following the steps below, you will be able to avoid skin irritations as much as possible.

Exfoliate

Before shaving, it is good to exfoliate, in order to remove the dead skin cells and thus to bring to the surface even the slightest body hair. Use a special body scrub that contains salicylic acid to deeply exfoliate your skin. This way you will achieve a deeper shave.

Use hot water

Warm water opens up the pores, softens the hairs and makes shaving easier, while any irritations are avoided.

Apply a moisturizer

The day before waxing, apply a rich moisturizer or body lotion to soften and hydrate your skin.

Use shaving foam or baby oil

Avoid shaving using soap or shower gel, as it causes irritation. Instead, opt for shaving foam or a product such as baby oil that softens the skin and makes the razor glide easily.

Find the perfect razor

Choose a razor based on your skin type. There are even razors for sensitive skin on the market. Make sure they have a lot of blades so that you can achieve a deep shave. It is important to change your razor frequently because a lot of bacteria and dead cells accumulate in the notches, which with constant use are transferred back to the skin.

Do not shave against the grain

Proper shaving prevents skin redness and unsightly pimples. Always follow the direction in which the hairs grow and don’t just make movements from the bottom up because some hairs have a horizontal instead of a vertical direction. After shaving do not forget to apply a moisturizer.
